Hanging Color

This week I've been choosing interior paint and wall decor for our home. Scandi design has always spoken to me; I love neutral base colors coupled with pops of color in decor. And even more so now, as I realize that choosing paint is a bit overwhelming and very permanent feeling while art is much more versatile and fun to pick. These are some of the pieces catching my eye and I love that I finally have a reason to buy work from artists I've followed online.

Red Fox, Ping Szoo | Birch Grove, Becca Stadtlander | Cook Often, Anek | Bee Hive, unitedthread | Girl With Bow, Jordan Grace Owens | Rooftops in Prague, Artquirk | Pomegranate, Anek | Top Knot, Elizabeth Mayville

What are your favorite art pieces in your home? Any artists you'd recommend I check out?

  1. When I worked as a framer last year a woman came in to frame two pieces from United Thread. I loved them so much I asked her where she got them. - Leah, leahwise.com

    1. If you can, I recommend investing in original art. The original art I have means so much more to me than prints. I recommend Leslie Peebles (http://www.lesliepeebles.com/ - woodblock, Florida-themed landscapes) and Frank Dong (http://www.mesart.com/artwork.jsp.que.artwork.eq.35194.shtml - he lives in San Francisco - we bought his art off the street).

    2. I know, United Thread's work is beautiful! I agree, original work is more special. I hope to have some original pieces for our place eventually, but right now prints are better for our budget. Thanks for your comments Leah! :-)
